Lark Camp

Registration is OPEN!

LARK CAMP 2025 is Aug 1-9.

LTA hosts Lark Camp, an annual eight-day music, song, and dance camp held in the Mendocino Woodlands in Mendocino, CA. Lark Camp began in 1980 and has grown to encompass all three Woodlands camp areas, broadening our curriculum to include dozens of global music traditions, a faculty of 80 instructors offering nearly 150 workshops daily, attracting up to 600 campers from all over the world to teach, learn, play, and create cross-cultural magic that enriches us all.

Lark Camp’s jam-packed schedule covers music and dance traditions from dozens of regions worldwide, plus workshops on musical improvisation, songwriting, and more. Campers are encouraged to play together in impromptu jam sessions, and dances and music performances are held every night. Lark Camp is held in the beautiful historic Mendocino Woodlands, and through nature walks campers learn about the local ecology and river conservation.

Any and all information you need to register for camp is located here, including:

  • Payment Options
  • Work trade Options
  • New Camper Discount
  • Returning Camper Referral Discount

Registration includes the fees for your tuition and camping combined. Meals are a separate amount.

VIRTUAL LARK

This was our 2025 line up. Amazing stuff, all FREE online workshops/jams.

Virtual Lark 2025 is over. Check back around New Years for info on Virtual Lark 2026.

Taking place over Zoom, Virtual Lark features workshops with top notch instructors, artist-led jam sessions, and an amazing opportunity to connect with “Lark-minded” individuals from all over the world.

Virtual Lark sprung from the COVID lockdowns when LTA hosted Lark Camp Online during the summer when in-person camp would ordinarily be held, followed by its first February Virtual Lark Camp and the Lark Cabaret – a series of streamed concerts. All of these events were intended to not only provide work for artist-instructors, but to fill the need for musical interaction during periods of lock-down when we could not hold camp safely. Videos of these events can be viewed on our YouTube Channel.

Jughandle Campout

We are excited to host our annual Jughandle Campout, held in October at the Jug Handle Creek Farm in Caspar, California on the Mendocino Coast. In 2024, the Jughandle Campout was October 11th through 14th.

This is a mostly acoustic, world folk music and dance gathering that will include camper-led workshops, jam sessions, dances, and hikes in the forest and to the nearby beach. Lodging options include private and shared rooms in the farmhouse, tent, RV camping, and day passes.
